Holding Page - v0002

To help support the launch of F.E.A.R 2, a live event was developed making players face real life fears as they played the game. Streamed over the course of an evening, players would take turns playing the game with and voted ‘fears’ such as snakes, dead fish etc would be introduced into their playing area. The event was streamed in real time and fear votes were cast by viewers, again in real time.

Tool box being packed away

Storing away the tools!

Saturday marked in some ways the end of my major ‘doing up my flat’ build. It all started over 2 years ago, without any clue what I was doing, a new tool box, drill and a readers digest D.I.Y book. Since then I’ve learnt how to wired and also the importance of double checking that the electricity is off first! How to fit a kitchen, plumb, sink pipes into walls, fit skirting boards, line walls, install fireplaces and loads more.

Spare room without carpet

Each room has it’s own story to tell and I’m glad to say that I’ve survived with all fingers in place, although there’s been some close shaves. So it’s with this final D.I.Y post for now that I sign off by saying that it’s been fun, hard work, exciting and a great experience!

This first post in a while also marks having at last the internet at the flat after 2 years without, woo hoo!

Asics Store Installation

To mark the launch of the new Asics store in london, an installation was created allowing you to race against other runners and the London Circle Line over 3 races, with times logged into a leaderboard. The main challenge was detecting how far the user had run on a treadmill and feed that into a Flash based app.

To solve this a cunning solution was used, a white stripe was painted onto the treadmill and a webcam was focused onto it. As the camera picked up passes of white and black the Flash app was able to work out the distance the runner had travelled!
